I feel like I’ve been going non-stop for the past few weeks and it wasn’t until I had a moment to chat with some other moms today at our final ballet recital that I realized that it wasn’t just me.
Its just that time of year.
Everything is wrapping up and coming to an end. Kids activities and school are over, or almost done. No rushing around, no requirement to be at a place / practice / event / anything, no remembering (or forgetting) uniforms / homework / equipment.
So while everything seems so busy right now, the light at the end of the tunnel is getting so close I can almost feel its warmth.
I am looking forward to a summer filled with family, friends, pool parties with my girls (the kind with inflatable pools and water wings). I am looking forward to time spent in our garden, to watching our girls (and my flowers) grow. I can’t wait for picnics in the park and checking out all that Edmonton has to offer.
Most of all, I can’t wait to have our days to ourselves. To get back to just doing whatever — whenever.
How about you? Are you busy wrapping up right now? What are you looking forward to most this summer?
I give myself three weeks before I start looking for another project. I can only handle so much peace.
