Toopy & Binoo Review

Papa Bird and I took Little Bird out yesterday to see  Toopy & Binoo and the Marshmallow Moon at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium. A live production from Koba Entertainment, this show was on at 1PM, 4PM and 7PM.

I originally mentioned Toopy & Binoo in a post earlier this month. This is a fun show to watch among 2 – 5 year olds.

We got to the theatre with about 10 minutes to spare and attending a kids theatrical performance was a first for all three of us. There were excited kids everywhere.

The story begins with Toopy looking for the perfect song to sing and he and Binoo (and Patchy Patch) go searching for that song with the help of a singing octopus.

They meet many characters like a monster in a toy box and singing sheep, then they dive in to a fish bowl in search of a beautiful voice. The show is full of singing and there is a lot of audience interaction. Questions are asked of the audience and people are encouraged to join in to songs.

Little Bird enjoyed the show and began by watching intently and taking everything in. The monster in the toy box scared her a little, but I think it was mostly the low voice of the monster that caught her off guard. She just hugged me through it, then went back to watching. She had a lot of fun and talked about Toopy & Binoo for the rest of the night, right up until bedtime.

The show still has more dates available in some parts of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Check out their tour dates and cities.

Disclosure – I received tickets to this show to facilitate my review.  The opinions on this blog are my own.
