I recently posted about how I organize my life with the Samsung Galaxy Tab A, and since then I’ve been spending more time moving into my new tablet and getting to know it better. I came across some other features that saved me some time, and spoke to my extreme multitasking tendencies.
Two screens at once
Speaking of multitasking, you can split your screen and do two things at once. How about reading an article online while Skyping with a friend? Or reading This Bird’s Day while surfing your Facebook feed?

Separate logins/user accounts
I have my apps, my husband has his. With this feature, I log in under my own user account, and I see all of my apps on the screen while my husband’s are hidden. Not only that, but I set up my screen how I want to see it. This way you aren’t continually moving icons around to how you like them only to have the next person move them back.
Ultra Power Saving Mode
We’ve all been there… That moment you realize you need 15% more battery, but you only have 2%. With Power Saving Mode and Ultra Power Saving Mode, you can restrict apps and features that would normally drain your battery and buy yourself some extra time.
Reading Mode
This is a nice feature for anyone who does a lot of reading on their tablet. Eye strain can cause a lot of headaches and this feature changes the brightness and colour of your screen to something that is easier on the eyes. This feature can be found in Settings -> Display -> Screen Mode.
Kids Mode
I’m still impressed with this feature. Kids Mode allows kids to play on their own without the fear of them opening one of your apps and doing some damage. In Kids Mode, they can not make any purchases and you are able to set a specific amount of play time so you can control how much time they spend playing their games.

Kid-friendly – keeping up with the times. My 11 year old son Evan loves the split screen and kid mode feature.

I love that it has a Kid’s Mode. My kids are always wanting to play with my phone (we don’t have a tablet yet) and I know they’d be trying to play on this
I’m torn between the reading mode and power saving mode. Both are very useful!

I always use my tablet for everything and the power saving feature would surely benefit me.
It is so hard to JUST choose one. I love the fact that there can be multiple users as well as kids mode bc well. Let’s face it, our kids use the technology we use so it’s nice to know we can limit things.

It is too easy to forget that you left a device on, only to find out it’s out of power when you try to use it later. So a good battery paired with the Ultra Power Saving Mode feature has to be my favourite thing.

My favourite feature is the Two screens at once. I think it’s an excellent feature and one that I’d get a lot of use out of. I’m always trying to multi-task on my devices.

my fave feature is that you can have different accounts, login so that hubby and son don’t see my stuff or screw up my work stuff.

I have to admit I fell in love at ‘split screen mode’ .. when I use my daughter’s ipad, it’s a real pain in the hind end not being able switch between apps so easily. This certainly would make facebook/email and gaming soo much easier and way more pleasant!

I didn’t know you could split the screen! That is a humongous feature to have in my life when it comes to keeping up with my family and paying attention to different social media outlets at once! Great post! :)

Most likely I think the kids mode would be the most practical thing for me to like in this house. 4 kids that are tech savvy means I want them to be safe while using technology. For me though I would love to do the 2 screens. Facebook and Twitter all day long
Out of your favourite features, I like the two screens at once the most, but it is a toss up! Everyone in our family would love something different the most but would love all of them too!
With four “tablet able” people in the house, I love that separate logins! Finally, people will stop deleting/moving my apps!

I really like the Separate logins/user accounts feature because I am pretty sure my hubby will want to use the tablet from time to time. I wouldn’t have to log out of all my social media and log back in whenever he borrows the tablet.
I like that you can use two screens
I love that there’s an automatic kids mode built in. The more recent versions of Android operating systems have allowed for multiple user accounts for awhile (something that I don’t think Apple has ever done) but to have a kids mode saves from having to change lots of settings and such. Thanks!

I LOVE Kids Mode! My son has special needs & is obsessed with technology & is crazy for apps. But he constantly goes into ones he shouldn’t, tries to purchase new apps, and it makes me bonkers. This feature is perfect for my life so I can take back control!

tough choice but i would say the two screens at once comes in more handy than you think. i often find myself using two sites whether to price compare, tell a friend on social media about something, remember an address, whatever

Hard to choose my favourite feature so luckily I don’t really have to choose! Two screens for the ADD personality in me. Ultra Power Saving Mode sounds like a super hero power for devices – Saving battery mode would also be great bc my device is ALWAYS about to die just when I finally get to whatever it is I needed to. And kids mode.

I love that you can have separate log ins for different users. My husband and I have a tabletc that we each use while on our exercise bike. I hate when I go on and he has moved everything around on me. This feature would be perfect for us!

The split screen is my favourite feature. Not being able to split screens is one of the main reasons why I prefer to use a laptop to work – it’s too hard to multitask. Excited to know that the Samsung Galaxy Tab A recognized the importance of this and has made a more user-friendly tablet!
