I bought a pair of shoes a few months ago from a big retailer in my city for a really great price. Or at least I thought it was a great price at the time.
A few weeks ago, while looking at my daughter’s gorgeous little toes, I realized that the second toe (beside her big toe) on both of her feet sits slightly on top of of the rest of her toes. I checked her shoes, and sure enough, there isn’t adequate room for her toes to develop the way they should. So I would either have to buy shoes that were too large so her toes had the space they need, or buy shoes that fit and that were too tight for her little piggies.
I received a pair of Pediped shoes to review and in comparing them with my store-bought shoes, they are far more superior in style, comfort, fit and quality. Best of all, Pediped understands what little feet need to develop properly.
We received the Christina-style Flex shoe to review and I can’t say enough about them. Just like their name suggests, they are very flexible, yet supportive at the same time. I can bend them easily and when Little Bird walks, it looks more like she is walking in her shoes, not her shoes are walking her.
The shoes have a super grip bottom and there is no slipping around in these babies which is perfect because when my daughter gets excited, she’s a runner. There is also a protective cover over the toe area of the shoe which helps cut back on scuffs and tears at the toes of the shoes and they look new for a longer period of time.
As for doing these shoes up, they have a velcro fastener. These are the only shoes that Little Bird likes to put on herself because they are really easy for her to get them on and off. This has really built up her confidence and she loves showing us how she is a “big girl” and she can do certain things. This is one of them. She sat in her diapers one weekend morning and just kept putting them on and taking them off only pausing in between to say “me big girl”.
And until December 31, 2010, Pediped is holding a ‘Buy a Pair, Give a Pair’ event. For every pair of shoes sold until the end of the month, Pediped will donate a pair to a children’s charity or groups.
The Christina Flex shoes that I am posting about is available for online purchase for $49. They have different sizes, colours and styles available at different price points as well, so make sure you check them out and find the right fit for those little feet.
