OPI Adds New Nail Lacquer Shades in 2014

I’ve been doing my nails a lot lately. I think it is a combination of the long winter and the amazing new colours and textures that OPI has put out over the last couple of months. Our days are still cold, but it looks like it will warm up starting tomorrow.

With the sense of Spring comes a welcome of colour. It is so nice to see some of the colours that are new this year and there is also a new collection out that sings ‘vibrant’ and ‘lively’. Before I get into the new shades that are being added to the OPI collection, I want to share the new Brazil by OPI collection.

From left to right above, these shades are: 1) Next Stop…The Bikini Zone, 2) Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around, 3) Taupe-less Beach, 4) I São Paulo Over There, 5) OPI Scores a Goal!, 6) AmazON…AmazOFF, 7) I Just Can’t Cope-acabana, 8) Where Did Suzi’s Man-go?, 9) Toucan Do It If You Try, 10) Kiss Me I’m Brazilian, 11) Live.Love.Carnaval, 12) Red Hot Rio

This collection covers a wide range of colours and include a nice taupe and nude shade in case you aren’t ready to let go of the toned down shades of winter. The first colours I jumped on were the mango and coral shades because I have had enough of winter. I love both of these colours together.

‘Where Did Suzi’s Man-go?’ and ‘Live. Love. Carnaval’ create this gradient that looks fantastic.

The Brazil collection is now available (ARV $10.95) at professional salons and spas across the country. This collection is also available in GelColor at salons as a professional service only.

Now on to the addition of 15 new lacquer shades to the Nicole by OPI nail line. In January, Nicole by OPI added these new shades to their lineup of colours and they range from light ivory and salmon shades to darker, metalic shades and include a fun confetti-like glitter.

What do you think about all of the shades in both of these collections? Any favorites?

I combined the metallic shade ‘Emerald Empowered’ with the confetti-glitter shade ‘Be Awesome’ from the new shades added to the Nicole by OPI collection this year.

Along with these new colours, Nicole by OPI is also launching new top coats and treatments.

From left to right in the above photo: Oil to Go keeps cuticles soft and smooth on the go. 3-in-1 Base, Top Coat & Strengthener encompasses nail care must-haves in one convenient bottle. Quick Dry Top Coat reduces drying time and adds shine and protection. Matte Top Coat can be layered over any Nicole by OPI hue to instantly transform shiny finishes to matte.

I’ve used all of these over the past 3 weeks and each one delivers on its description. My favorite is the Matte Top Coat. This turns any lacquer into two shades in my opinion as it gives a different feel from shiny to velvet-smooth.

Nicole by OPI formulas are long-lasting, fast-drying, and salon-quality. These are available now for $10.99 each at select Shoppers Drug Mart, Jean Coutu, Loblaws and London Drug stores across Canada.
