A Mother’s Day Surprise

Moms are at the start of a big weekend right now. Children and husbands have been secretly plotting. Crafts are being made, dinner is being planned, and the magic is about to happen. Before that begins, I want to share a touching video that had me crying (happy tears) in the middle of a coffee shop. Thanks Canon.

Canon Canada joined forces with some amazing kids and equipped them with an EOS Rebel SL1 Digital SLR (which is the same camera that our family owns and loves). Celebrity Portrait Photographer, Steve Carty, gave them some tips and together they made some pretty amazing Mother’s Day gifts. Watch until the end, it’s the mom’s reactions that will leave you in tears. (happy tears, of course).

Mother’s Day gifts made personally by their child(ren) still top every mom’s gift list. Having their child’s creativity recorded in a gift that will last long after they have grown and left home is such a treasure.

As for me, I get a two-part Mother’s Day with Part One happening this afternoon. My daughter’s kindergarten class is holding a special event to celebrate. Their event is pretty hush-hush and my daughter has gotten to the age where she now understands the proper etiquette of ‘secrets’, so I haven’t been able to find anything out.

One thing is for certain, I will most likely cry (happy tears) one or more times this afternoon. I can’t help it. I get emotional when I watch my kids do things.

If you get a moment, watch the video, and let me know what’s planned for your big day.

Happy Mother’s Day.
