When I first signed up for my Lays Chip Trips account, I was excited to see the Edmonton Valley Zoo on a list of destinations that offered savings. As a family, we went last year and Baby Bird enjoyed it, but she was only a year old. Now she recognizes more and understands more of what she sees, so we were excited to take her.
I printed off our voucher from Lays Chip Trips that entitled us to a ‘buy 1, get 1 at 50% off’. The vouchers themselves are easy to print. You just need to make sure you are hooked up to a printer before printing because it will deduct the points off of your account to print the voucher.
To print the voucher, I just chose the Valley Zoo Chip Trips and when in that screen, clicked on ‘get this trip’ on the bottom left. Then read the important information and print off your voucher. The neat thing about this trip was that I could print it off and put it in a friends name if I wanted. My parents are visiting this summer and I like that I can print them off a savings coupon so they can go on a day that I work.
Now on to the fun. I presented my voucher at the window, and the girl on cash knew exactly what it was for. I asked her if she had gotten many of these and she said that she had seen a quite a few so people are taking advantage of the trips which is good to see.
Children under 2 get in free (Baby Bird is 23 1/2 months old, just made it!) at the Valley Zoo, so I bought my admission and Papa Bird got 50% off his. Not bad for a fun day in the park.
We went a couple of weekends ago and there was a charity dog walk going on outside the park so the zoo was really quiet. Baby Bird likes to get out and walk when it isn’t crowded so we had a fun time. She got to see a lot of different animals, many she recognized without us prompting. In her words, she saw an Ow (owl), a Maw (monkey) and some Ba (birds).
We played on some of the structures and talked about a lot of animals. Most importantly, we got the chance to get out of the house and do something as a family – have fun… and save money!
If you haven’t had the chance to yet, make sure you sign up for Lays Chip Trips, there is still a lot of time to get discounts at destinations across Canada, and the points from one big bag of chips is all you need to get started cashing in.
Up next for us? We are hoping to use our Chip Trips soon for a visit to the Telus Science Centre with my parents when they visit.
Oh, and if you are thinking about trying one of the two new flavours, we had them and they taste great. And remember, the points on the new ones, Cheddar & Sour Cream and the BBQ Rib are doubled.
Have you taken advantage of Lays Chip Trips yet? Where did you go?
