Laughter is the Best Medicine

Earlier this month, our youngest came down with a fever that knocked her out for about a week.

She went from fever to tiredness to sneezing and sniffles, and she took it hard. At three years old, she couldn’t understand why she could only play for a few minutes, then she needed to nap because she exhausted herself so quickly. It was frustrating all around.

It got to a point where it was time to get her to lay still and take care of herself. We decided that I would make her a bed on the sofa and she could set up camp with all of her favourite things. I added a box of Kleenex, some crackers, apple juice, and the remote control. Then we chose a movie.

She spent the day on the couch. Normally this would have me waving my big ‘FAIL’ sign, but this was wonderful. She slept, she took care of herself, she relaxed, and she laughed. I made her my homemade Chicken Soup for a Cold recipe and we chose some great comedies to get her through the day and this was also the day that her health began to turn around and she started coming out of her sickness.

Here are our top choices for comedies on Netflix right now.
