In our family, food goes hand in hand with celebrating occasions. When thinking about Christmases past and this one to come, my mind quickly drifts to the different foods that we used to enjoy or will be enjoying soon. There are the home-cooked classics that remind me of home, then there are the new foods that pop up from year to year.
This year, President’s Choice has some new items in their PC Holiday Insider’s Report that are sure to jingle your bells. these items are here for the season, but won’t be around for long, so if you see something that you want to try, you need to get down and grab it before it is gone (and some of their items go fast).
Here are some items that you might want to add to your next grocery shopping list. I have my top three choices of what I would really love to try first.
PC The Decadent Molten Chocolate Chip Cookie
If you thought their famous chocolate chip cookie was as decadent as it could be, guess again. Made with all butter, this cookie has been given a new twist and is about an inch thick and has a chocolate centre that melts into a molten lava flow when heated in the oven or microwave. I’m thinking the only thing this dessert needs to take it over the top will be some delicious, cold ice cream.
PC Candy Cane Flavoured Ground Coffee
President’s Choice has read my mind. Just last week when I was making my coffee, I found myself reaching for some peppermint flavouring to add in. This year, PC has added their own subtle candy cane flavour to their 100% arabica coffee. The sweetness of the candy cane makes it a great choice to serve with desserts this holiday season, or just on its own while sitting by the tree and watching your little ones tear in to their gifts on Christmas morning.
PC Milk Chocolate Covered Butter Toffee with Roasted Almonds
Well this just sounds too good not to try on the holidays. Having a tin of something on hand in case of (always welcomed) drop-ins during the holidays is a must. Although I’m not completely convinced that I wouldn’t eat these before any guests actually decided to come over.
Available in stores for $8 and all wrapped up in a fun, retro tin, this would also make a great gift for someone on your list.
There are so many new items to kick off the holiday season in ‘good taste’. Make sure you drop by and like President’s Choice on Facebook and also take a look at their complete Holiday Insider’s Report for your holiday dining inspiration.
Disclosure: I received a sample of new food items from President’s Choice for free to complete my feature. The opinions expressed in this post are mine only and are in no way influenced by any outside factors.
