Starting now until October 2, Boston Pizza has their popular Kids Card campaign happening across the country at all locations. For a minimum donation of $5 to Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects, you will receive a Kids Card that is good for five FREE kids meals valued at $35 (when an adult meal is purchased). Each Kids Meal includes entrée, side, beverage, dessert and activity pack.
Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects was established in 2014 to raise funds and awareness for organizations that provide kids in Canada with role models and mentoring programs. BPF Future Prospects is proud to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Kids Help Phone, Live Different, JDRF and the Rick Hansen Foundation. Since its inception in 1990, the Boston Pizza Foundation has raised and donated more than $22 million to directly improve the health and well-being of children and families.
We participate in this program each year for a few reasons. The obvious reason is giving money to help support Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects. The charitable organizations that Boston Pizza partners with are inspirational and work hard to support kids’ health, growth and future.
The second being saving money on kids meals which can really add up when you go out to eat with a family of four. At age eight and five, our daughters think it is such a treat to go out somewhere fancy. Since I haven’t figured out how to get the money tree in my backyard to start producing yet, we need to save money where we can.
And our main reason we buy the cards each year is because Boston Pizza is the restaurant our girls like the most. They get to colour on their menus. They get to pick from a variety of fun kids meals and when it’s a special occasion they get the ‘fizzy’ grape drink. They get ice cream for dessert, and they get to pick a little toy out of the treasure chest on their way out.
How this works
- Stop by any Boston Pizza location, or visit online by October 2, 2016 to pick up your card. A minimum five dollar donation gets you a card for five free kids meals.
- GET A SIXTH MEAL FREE – Register your kids card with your MyBP account online and get a sixth meal added for free. There’s also a Boston Pizza app for that in the iTunes store.
Money raised through the Kids Cards promotion goes to the Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects, a charity dedicated to providing mentorship and role models to kids in need, so they can realize their full potential. Every five dollars raised equals one hour with a role model for a kid in need. Each year, Boston Pizza provides more than 200,000 hours of guidance and inspiration to children across Canada by giving them access to role models.
Proceeds from Kids Cards allow the Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects to work with charity partners across Canada to provide children with someone in their community they can look up to for inspiration and guidance. Through the Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects, Boston Pizza raises money for the following charities.
Big Brothers Big Sisters
Donations allow Big Brothers Big Sisters to extend and expand mentoring services into new communities and to youth who do not currently have access to mentoring programs. From Blackfalds, Alberta to Renfrew County in the Ottawa Region, from Yellowknife, NWT to Eastern Newfoundland, and many places in between, 1000s of young people benefit from the guidance of a mentor.
BP’s partnership with JDRF Canada has helped fund the development of an artificial pancreas and the youth ambassador program which provides mentorship to young people living with type 1 diabetes (T1D).
Kids Help Phone
Kids Help Phone is a leading Canadian charity offering the only national professional counseling service that kids can trust and access at any time. Kids Help Phone has added adult tools and resources and youth online content to their website, garnering more than 4,000 visits every month.
Live Different has helped inspire over 1 million students in Canada, through high school motivational presentations, with the message that their life has value, that they have hope for their future and that they can make a positive difference in the world.
Rick Hansen Foundation
By partnering with BP, Rick Hansen Foundation has reached more youth through the Rick Hansen School Program so that over 500,000 students across the country each year can learn about inclusion for people with disabilities and how to make a difference in their local community.
You have until October 2 to pick up your card this year as they are only around for a limited time.
